equine vet nurse….?

what qualifications do i need to become an equine vet nurse, what jobs will they do and also how much do they earn roughly (in the uk). working as a vet/vet nurse is something i have always wanted to do since i was 5 and i’ve always been there when my pets have been to the vets/had vet visits. i have been around horses since i was 8 and have had my own for the past 3 years. i have just finished my gcse’s and will be getting my results in a couple of weeks. in biology i am expecting to get an A/B (i dont think i did too well on the exam because i had a bad cold so not sure) and in chemistry i should be getting an A and in physics i will probably get a B. in maths i am expecting an A/B. i am not so great at english and never have been. i got a C overall in language and should get a C/B in literature. my other subjects arent really related to this career at all but i have definately got at least C’s in all of them and most should be higher.

next year i am doing Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and sociology AS and then probably dropping sociololgy and doing the other 3 A-levels. if i do well in maths this year i might swap that for maths though after i get my results.

what should i do after that. i was thinking of doing this course as part-time or an apprenticeship. http://www.nortcoll.ac.uk/animalcare_PTcourseinfo.aspx?crscode=ACVTND3

http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/Types-of-Apprenticeships/Agriculture-Horticulture-and-Animal-Care/Veterinary-Nursing.aspx

what do you think… then after that what course do i need to do to specialise in equine?
fennec fox, i know i cat be an actual vet which is why i am going to be a vet nurse. also i get mainly A’s and B’s if you read correctly with probably two or three C’s.

What is it like being a nurse?

I’m considering being a nurse, my mum is one, but she doesn’t like talkin about work! :P , so it’s mostly things like " Holby City " and " Casualty " that are medical related! I know being a nurse isn’t really all like that, so what’s it really like?

1) I’m a guy, and gay, does that make a difference?
2) Pay? I know it’s not the best, but compared other careers I’ve considered, it’s either the same, or better, considering conditions…… What’s it like for first timers?
3) What are some things to consider before embarking on this career path?
4) Where is, in your opinion, the best specialism to work?
5) Is any part of nursing in real life like that of the lives of staff in " Holby City " and " Casualty " ?

Thanks so much! (UK)

Register Nurse Salary… New York / Florida?!?

So, I’m from the UK and considering a career in nursing, I’d love to move around doing a job I love, so I thought I’d consider going to America!

What I’d most likely do is;

Start/Finish a nursing degree
Gain experience working in the NHS and loading agency,
Spend up to 5 years nursing in UK
Move to America, nurse in either New York, Florida/Orlando or California!

NHS starting salary is around £21,500 a year…

So, say I did like 3 years and gained lots of experience in nursing, mainly critical care/ Intensive Care or Acute Admissions or Accident and Emergency..

What would an average salary be if I then decided to move to America?

Best suburb/Country Town to raise a family in australia (leaving the UK)?

This is what I’m looking for (I know I’m not likely to tick all the boxes but I’d be happy to tick most :-) :

Suburbs/Country Town (relaxed)lifestyle

Not too far from the city an hour or 2 drive max (maybe even 3hrs)

Open space with green leafy area but not a rainforest lol

Great schooling/education system (my little one will be 12 when we move)

Culture & history such as museums & art galleries etc

Not too touristy (there will always be people on holiday visiting but not a complete/high tourist area)

Things to do, entertainment for children & adults such as cinemas, bowling alleys, shopping etc

Great transport links

Beach or beaches not too far

Quiet to modest area, I’m not a big fan of great noise with hustle & bustle lol

Good family/community environment & feel

Local hospital & health career job opportunties for my nursing career

Cost of living isn’t too expensive

Multicultural

Low crime rates

What jobs are most needed?

I’m only doing GCSEs at the moment, but im looking into future careers, and I was wondering what jobs (in the UK) are most needed? I’m not interested in anything minimum wage, or that requires no brain power what so ever. I’m also not interested in nursing, dentistry, anything ICT based or teaching/child care. I know that probably rules out a lot of the main job options but are there any others that are really needed/under subscribed?

Im in top sets with A* targets (which i hope to achieve), planning on doing A-Levels then i dont mind going to uni. I’m interested in animals (a lot), biology (and all things relating to that) and anything relating the two. Thanks!!

What do you need in order to become a Group/Team Leader, Co-ordinator at a Day care centre in the U.S/UK?

I’m in Australia and was just curious. I send my 17 1/2 mo daughter to day care 3 days a week because of my partner and I’s work and study commitments. This wouldn’t be a bad career IMO. I am currently studying a bit of early education and doing a bit of nursing later.

Cheers!
I’m Aussie so it might be different there… Here you need a Diploma or Bachelor of Early Education, some sort of B.eD

Is it difficult to get a job in australia if i study bachelor of information technology in australia?

I am from India.
Is it difficult to get a job in australia if i study bachelor of information technology in australia??I heard that many are returning home without getting a job in australia after their studies.. Is that true?
My next option is to study nursing in India and go to UK or Australia after that for job. Which option is better in your opinion? I am a little hesitated to opt nursing since it is considered as a low class job. But i think the salary and the job opportunities are good for nursing. So I am confused in choosing the right career. Please help me sincerely.

Can someone list me some careers that I could persue after taking BTEC Health and Social Care?

I live in the UK and I am currently taking a BTEC Health and Social Care course in college. I am stuck as to what I really want to be so I’d like to be able to look at all my options and decide from that.

If you could just list me some career options or some relating links, or even what course at University I would have to take, that would be great!

Example:

- Paramedic (paramedic science @ UNI)
- Nurse (nursing course @ UNI)
- Midwife
Etc

Thankyou ~<3

Wife Wants to Work Abroad and Leave Me for 3 Years?

Im married for 1 year and 3 months, we are living in the Philippines. Now, My Wife is a nurse graduate and wants to work abroad. Work here as a nurse is hard(too many), and the pay is low. We are not really suffering or in dire need of money but she wants to start her career ASAP. She is planning to be a working student in UK. Problem is, Im a very sentimental/emotional person. It is still around 6 months before she leaves(if she decides to push thru with this), and yet here I am getting very depressed.

Yes I can visit her 2 months/year(her contract/schooling is good for 3 years), but I just feel its too early in our marriage to be put to this kind of stress. I read around, and though yes I trust her, anything can happen(accidents, longing for a companion, etc). 3 years is a LONG time. We dont even have a kid yet, which by the way I want to be raised here in the Philippines so our kid can know our parents(they are getting older and older), and for traditions sake. If she goes there, plan of having kids will be moved for 4 years instead of next year.

I told her I can go to UK with her but I need to save up, cuz as of the moment, money will only allow her to go there(tuition, plane fares, visa, etc.). But she cant wait. I feel so depressed. She said she loves me, and I do know she means it. I just feel that she is kinda selfish to really put her dreams first before us. Should I just trust her and come what may/visit whenever? Or talk her to waiting til next year when I can go with her(she fears tuition, requirements will be harder if we wait longer)…

Sigh… Please reply and soon. Heart is breaking…

THANKS!
@Poppy… how about if we just push thru with this? She goes, I visit her. Is it almost impossible to work things out with this?
Thanks guys! Really really appreciate it!

@FaithE, as I said, Im not stopping her, I merely said I was hoping she will give me time to save up so I can go with her at the same time. One more year. If she can ask me to wait 3 years for her, why cant she wait just 1 year more for me(and WITH me).

She is so attached and dependent to me here, she can hardly go anywhere without me, cuz she wants me to be her "chaperone". I just want to protect her, and guide her on her first month there. So really, I dont see why that is selfish. Cuz her decision seemed rush. The moment her friend went to UK and told her stories, she suddenly wants to go there.

Medical Profession Careers in Japan?

What are studies like in Japan compared to US and UK for becoming a doctor, nurse and a paramedic.

How long does it take to complete each one including internships, traineeships and going into a specialised field for doctors.

This would be for a permanent resident in Japan.

Thank you.
