I wish to become a Mental Health Nurse. What are my chances and what can I do?

I wish to become a Mental Health Nurse. Currently, I can do a diploma with 5 GCSE’s including math. However, I don’t currently have math. I’m trying to get to sit the exam myself, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to to as I don’t know whether or not Course Work is still required.

I’m desperate to get this sorted because soon it’s going to turn into a degree only course.

What are my options?

If it helps any, I’m in the UK, in the Bedfordshire area. My closest uni is Bedfordshire University which I went to yesterday to check out the course.

I know I have the intelligence to do this as a career, and to climb the ladder quickly, my predicted grades in high school were 11 A-C, trouble was I went off the rails a bit, but I don’t want the past to continue to haunt me so to speak. I want to get my life back on track, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

- Mav
